Human facial skin (photoaged females) and animal wound-healing models; in vitro hairless mouse skin permeation
Bioavailability: In vitro hairless mouse skin: pal-KTTKS was detected in stratum corneum (4.2 ± 0.7 μg/cm²), epidermis (2.8 ± 0.5 μg/cm²), and dermis (0.3 ± 0.1 μg/cm²), but was NOT detected in the receptor solution, indicating no full-thickness permeation under the tested conditions. Unmodified KTTKS was not detected in any skin layer.

Robinson 2005: 12-week, double-blind, placebo-controlled, split-face RCT in 93 Caucasian women (35–55 y) using 3 ppm pal-KTTKS moisturizer vs. vehicle — significant improvement in fine lines/wrinkles vs. placebo.
